Missing & Murdered Children
In the United States, an average of 350,000 to 460,000 children are reported missing to law enforcement each year. According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the vast majority of missing juveniles (over 90%) are recovered safely. The other 10% are my focus.
I was told by a law enforcement agent that most kids are found safe, and only 2% of children end up dead. The only thing that says to me is that our law enforcement friends need more training.
460,000 children - 10% = Too many endangered and deceased. That means in abductions, trafficking, exploitation, abuse and murder.
My Journey
I ran a missing persons organizing in Illinois named the Missing Persons Awareness Network NFP. Many volunteers came forward with the same goals as I had, and together we did alot of things to bring these families together with their missing loved ones. Unfortunately my battle of almost ten years to work together with families and law enforcement came to a halt when I finally had to accept that the politics in Illinois did not have the best interests in heart for the missing children and adults. While I met some amazing families and law enforcement members, the politicians are quite the different animals I expected them to be.
Today I continue my journey and intend to share my knowledge and my journey with the world. I never said I was an experienced author or writer, but my writing comes from my experiences, from my truth, and my heart.
